“ Made a last minute booking last night and it did not disappoint. The front of house was an absolute gem. The place is absolutely gorgeous, very well decorated. They have a very good wine selection, and the food is just simply delicious. We tried roughly half of the menu, the portions were well sized, some very generous. Special mention to the scallops which were so tasty, as well as the courgette risotto. ”

The food looked delicious so we added it to our list. Eventually we got to go the other week and it was a delight. The produce used made simple things like bread and butter taste heavenly. “ This is a lovely new place in Highbury. The decor is minimalist and LAish. The service was great, very attentive without being overbearing. The no alcohol options were great including the Botivo ginger tipple. Bread was a total tick, the mains were nice but the standouts were the desserts. You literally cannot go past the apple toffee cake. It is a must. The chocolate tart is amazing as well. The smoothness yet density was out of this world. Nice portion sizes too. Make sure to leave room for two of these at the end of the meal. ”

“ Really enjoyed our visit to Saltine. The wine list had really accessible prices, local suppliers like Dusty Knuckle and wines from a local favourite Renegade. The food was great, really well balanced - that rare experience where you have to debate what to miss out on because everything looks good! Friendly and attentive service, with a team who are clearly knowledgable about the menu. Allergies were also graciously accommodated. Really recommend the gildas and the sticky toffee pudding with apple. They also do very good chips that come with gravy, can’t go wrong. Thanks Saltine team for a lovely evening! ”
“ Great local small plates restaurant. The roast chicken is extremely succulent hugely positively surprised by it. If you have a well behaved dog (note well behaved as the space is tight) we had our dog there and it was so nice to have a restaurant like this that is pet friendly. My little furry friend also loved the roast chicken! ”
